Caroline McDonald

Caroline McDonald of San Marcos passed away Jan. 21, 2019

Caroline was born Jan. 9, 1940 in Zorn, Texas, and had just celebrated her 79th Birthday.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and Nana. Caroline attended the Dietert School in Zorn and was a lifelong member of Hermann Sons. She worked as a seamstress, even creating costumes for the Aquarena Springs underwater swimmers.

She enjoyed canning, baking, camping, volleyball and 9 pin bowling. But most of all she enjoyed family.

Caroline is preceded in death by her loving husband William A “Bill” McDonald, mother Cora Dietert, father Armo Dietert Sr., brothers and sisters Dorene Dietert, James Dietert, Lorene Reininger and Henry Dietert.

Caroline is survived by daughters Loretta Sanders and husband Larry and Carol Rybarski and husband Mike; son William McDonald; grandchildren Trevor, Kelsey Buell and husband Eric. Ashley Doane and husband Chad, Lauren Sanders and Austin McDonald; great grandchildren Damon Sanders, Slade Buell, Harlow Buell, Sutton Doane and soon to be Camden Doane; brothers and sisters Armo Dietert Jr., Dorothy Haner and husband Ed, Marilyn Knoll and husband Eddie, Vernell Miller,  Barbara Tanneberger and husband Marshall, Charlie Dietert and  wife Karen; sister-in-law Margie Diertert and brother-in-law Ralph Reininger and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Thomason Funeral Home Thursday Jan. 24,  from 5-8 p.m., 2001 Old Ranch Rd. 12 San Marcos, TX 78666. Services will be held Friday Jan. 25 at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at San Marcos City Cemetary.
