Charlie Floyd Davis of Staples, Texas passed away on Dec. 27, 2018, at the age of 80. He was born Oct. 17, 1938, in San Marcos, Texas, to Leon and Mary (Travis) Davis.
He graduated from San Marcos High School in 1957. He married Jane Sachtleben on July 19, 1958 and they enjoyed 60 years together. A paint contractor, he enjoyed hunting, especially black powder hunting. Charlie and Jane have been members of Staples Baptist Church since 1969.
His parents and three brothers, John Davis, David Davis and Joe Davis preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Jane; daughters, Theresa Stanford and husband, Ken of Kingsbury, Lisa Warren and husband, Robert of Round Rock; brother, Leslie Davis and wife, Charlotte of College Station; sister, Helen O’Bert and husband, Bill of Lockhart; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Charlie’s life will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Staples Baptist Church, with Rev. John Newby officiating. Interment to follow at Staples Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charlie’s memory may be made to the Staples Baptist Church, 2102 River Road, San Marcos, Texas 78666.
