Colleen Shelton

Colleen Shelton, beloved mother, sister, grand-andgreat-grandmother passed away on Dec. 24, 2018 in Startzville, Texas, at the age of 92. She was born in San Marcos, Texas on Aug. 11, 1926, to Corrie J. and Edna (Duncan) Shelton.

Colleen graduated from San Marcos High School. She married Howard Shelton on July 3, 1947 in San Marcos and they enjoyed 66 years together before he passed away in 2014. For 16 years, she owned and operated “The Wood & Iron Show,” a curio shop in Albuquerque, NM.

She is survived by her son, Ed Carl Shelton and wife, Christine of Colorado; daughter, Corrie Parsons of Startzville; brother, Handler Smith and wife, Leslie of San Marcos; five grandchildren, Heather Lynn Shelton, Carla Colleen Elbel, Christopher Paul Buckles, Allen Preston Parsons and Autry Colleen Parsons; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services were held at the San Marcos City Cemetery, at 1 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, with her daughter, Corrie Parsons officiating.
