Floyd Vincent Chapman

Floyd Vincent Chapman

Thursday, June 27, 2019

Floyd Vincent Chapman was born February 25, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas and left this world on June 22, 2019.

His passing has left a huge gap in the lives of the people that loved him and all of those that had the chance to be his friend.

After graduation from Highlands High School, Floyd built a career with Chapman Construction, first alongside his father, and eventually on his own.  In the years that followed, he owned several local businesses including Underpass Saloon, NB Raquetball Club, Keno’s Drive-In, and most recently, along with his wife Jamie, Jacks Roadhouse in San Marcos, TX for 18 years.

Floyd was a devoted family man and, throughout his lifetime, supported and coached his children in their various sporting teams and events, including the 1995 State Championship for New Braunfels Junior League Baseball in Florida of which he was very proud.   He was also an athlete in his own right and was the proud winner of the 1982 Catalina Pro-Am National Racquetball Championship.

Floyd dearly loved and was proud of his children, his wife and his beautiful extended family. They were the pride and joy of his life.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Ruth Chapman.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Jamie; his daughter Brandi Traylor and her husband Doug, their children Carson, Cade, Camden and Cannon; son Cody Chapman and his wife Tonja, their children Kinzley, Breeana and Braelynn; and Brandi and Cody’s mother Lynette Frye Chapman.  He is also survived by an extended family that he loved as his own: Nicci Heffington and her husband Brandon, their children Cole, Kolson and Tanner; Cory Tomas and his wife Christina, their children O’Banyon and Lauren; Kristin Garza and her husband Nate, their children Brayden and Rylan; his sister Barbara Slayden and her husband Rick; his nephew and niece Patrick and Holly, and numerous additional family members and friends that he adored.

Services will be on Sunday, June 30th, 2pm at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX with a Celebration of Life to follow at Old Ice House.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Texas Country Music Association or the American Cancer Society.
