Gracie A. Jones

Gracie A. Jones, a long-time resident of San Marcos passed away on August 15, 2019 at the age of 68. She was born in Houston, TX to William and Zelma Howell. She graduated from Burnet High School, and moved to San Marcos to attend Southwest Texas State University where she met Jerry Jones.  They married, and God gave them 3 children; Christy, Ryan, and Trent.

Gracie loved serving God, and helping others. She was a passionate advocate for missions and encouraged giving and prayer for the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. Gracie was an active member at Martindale Baptist Church for 43 years. She had a relentless love for senior citizens, children, and families in need. 

She worked at Hopson Builders for years, delivered papers for the San Marcos Daily Record and was the owner of Petal Polishers, bringing beautiful plants to many of our local businesses.

Gracie is preceded in death by her parents and leaves behind a loving and caring family which includes her husband of 48 years, Jerry Jones; her children, Christy Tietz, Ryan Jones and Trent Jones; her brother, Bill Howell; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy, Tyler, Dylan, Brice, Brinkley, Jack, Maya and Sara; and her church family at the Martindale Baptist Church.

The Jones Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 5-8 pm. The funeral service will begin at 10am on Thursday, August 22 at the Martindale Baptist Church, 12351 Hwy 142. She will be laid to rest at Memory Lawn Memorial Park, Martindale.
