Helen Elmira David

Helen Elmira David

April 27, 1933 - October 27, 2018
Tuesday, November 6, 2018

Helen passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 27, 2018, after 85 years of living, loving, and in her later years, sharing her opinions. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Carroll Oliver David; brother Bobby Winters, and sister Ruth Burttschell. She is survived by her brothers Frank Burttschell, Howard Burttschell, and Doug Winters; her cousin John Howard Burttschell; her children Susan Haschke, Steven David, and Sarah Luecke, and their spouses.

She loved spoiling her 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and her dog Lady Di.

Helen was born April 27, 1933 in Eldridge, TX. Throughout her life she enjoyed making people happy, and often did so by cooking fried chicken, roast turkey, or chicken gumbo at family gatherings and holiday celebrations. Her outgoing personality made her the life of the party. She loved decorating her home for Christmas, and delighted her family and friends with her collection of over 100 Santas.

We will greatly miss Helen, our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cook and confidant.
