Judith (Judy) Ann Berry, 64, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in San Marcos. She was born in San Marcos, Texas to Olian Berry and Ruby Berry on Feb. 2, 1955 (at the old San Marcos Hospital on Belvin Street). She was the third of five children. Judy grew up in San Marcos, and graduated from San Marcos High School, class of 1973, were she was a member of the Royal Guard drill team. She retired from IRS in 2015, after 25 years of service. Being a mom was Judy’s greatest passion, her whole world revolved around Ashlee, and she was so proud of her son-in-law Matt and her beautiful grandbabies. Judy was a caregiver by nature, she loved and was very protective of her entire family. She loved the beach, swimming in the San Marcos river, watching hallmark movies and listening to music. She was known as the family historian and exceptional ability to remember all details and important dates of special family events. Judy was a very loyal friend to many; with her outgoing personality she was quick to make friends and start a conversation with anyone. She had a remarkable smile and dimples that no one could forget.

She is survived by daughter, Ashlee Mathis and husband Matthew Mathis of El Paso; Sister Kathy Donnelly and husband Bob Donnelly of San Marcos and brother Daren Berry and wife Pamela of Buda; grandchildren Aubree and Gunnar Mathis and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Diana Greenwalt; infant brother David Berry and nephew Chance Donnelly.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Mathis, Bob Donnelly, Daren Berry, Jared Donnelly, Justin Berry, Tyler Berry and Chace Berry. 

Visitation will be held 9 a.m. and Funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos. Burial will follow at the San Marcos City Cemetery. For more information and to sign the online guest register please visit Thomason Funeral Home's website
