Lecia Ann Whittaker

Lecia Ann Whittaker, 63, of San Marcos, TX passed away at her home on Thursday, Nov. 1st, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Whittaker was born in Port Arthur, TX on Feb. 20, 1955 to James Monroe Mc-Donald and Grace Florence (Kubitz) McDonald. Lecia was part of Community Bible Study for many years and was greatly impacted by the love and friendships she experienced there. For seven years she served as a preschool teacher, loving and teaching the children. She was also a faithful member of Hill Country Church for 25 years, serving on the helps committee, as a nursery worker, Healing Rooms volunteer and in many other capacities. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. From the time of her first diagnosis of cancer, she has reached out with compassionate encouragement to others wrestling sickness.

She was preceded in death by her father, James McDonald; mother, Grace Florence McDonald and her sister, Jenny McDonald. Mrs. Whittaker is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, John Alan Whittaker; son, Brian Whittaker of San Marcos, TX; daughter, Rebecca Barnett and her husband, Matthew of Midland, TX; sister, Lori McDonald-Foster and her husband, Charles Foster of Groves, TX.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at the Hill Country Church, 1401 Davis Lane, San Marcos, TX with Pastor Tim Darnell officiating. Interment will follow at the San Marcos Cemetery. Please call 512-396-2300 for information and sign the online guest registry.
