Leola Marie Borchers

Leola Marie Borchers of San Marcos, Texas, passed away on Feb. 15, 2019, at the age of 79. She was born March 20, 1939 to Jack and Vera Davids in Buffalo Center, Iowa.

She was a teacher for many years, teaching in Mason City, Iowa, Lander, Wyoming, Dubois, Wyoming, Scotts Bluff, Nebraska and finally in San Marcos, Texas.

Leola loved her family. She volunteered at Twice Blessed in San Marcos and enjoyed garage selling.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Borchers; son, Jonathan Borchers (Hege) of Houston; daughter Natalie Borchers (Mark) of Cedar Hill; brother John Davids (Betty) of Buffalo Center, Iowa; 3 sisters, Violet Baker of Ames, Iowa, Ruth Bassett of El Paso, and Carol Malmberg of Buffalo Center, Iowa.  She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019 at 1 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m., in the Pennington Memorial Chapel.  Interment to follow at the Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale.
