Surrounded by her loving family, Linda Susan Cochran of San Marcos, Texas passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 69.
Known to all as “Susan” she was born Jan. 22, 1949, in Wills Point, Texas, the daughter of the late Ardie Jackson Brown and Madeline Ruth (Russell) Brown. Susan is survived by her husband of 48 years, James H. Cochran, Jr., her son, Jarrett Cochran and wife, Leah, and grandson, Jacob of Martindale, and brother, Hugh Brown and wife Sharon of San Marcos, and Jerry Cochran and wife, Linda of Prairie Lea along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Susan was a graduate of San Marcos High School class of ‘67 and attended Southwest Texas State University studying history and English.
Susan’s passion was studying about the correlation between the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. She wrote and gave presentations about the Jewish Feasts of Israel and their relevance to New Testament Christians.
Susan’s life was changed on Nov. 4, 2008 when she was given the gift of life by a donor family, receiving an organ transplant at the University Transplant Center in San Antonio.
Family will receive friends at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at First Baptist Church, San Marcos, with the Rev. Chad Chaddick officiating. Interment will follow at the Driftwood Cemetery in Driftwood, TX.
