Maria DeJesus Delgado

Maria DeJesus Delgado (Grandma Chuy), 96, of San Marcos, TX passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 10, surrounded by her loving family. Maria was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on June 8, 1922 to Marcelino and Anastacia (Saucedo) Rodriguez.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernardino in 2015; great-grandson, Jerid Luera; sisters, Frances Delgado, Isabel Rodriguez and Margarita Noriega; brothers, Martin Rodriguez, Solidad Rodriguez and William Rodriguez. Maria is survived by her daughter, Mary Cuevas and her husband, Robert of San Marcos; son, Johnny Delgado of San Marcos; sisters, Mauricia Saucedo and Ramona Rodriguez both of San Marcos; grandchildren, Robert Cuevas, Jr., Judy Cuevas DeLeon, Angel Cuevas, Sr. and his wife, Shawna Rawlinson Cuevas; Melissa Luera and her husband, Andrew; great-grandchildren, Amanda Gonzales and her husband, Chris; Ashlee Gonzalez and her husband, Jeremy; great-great-grandchildren; Mia, McKenzie, A.J., Alyssa, Seth and Aaron.

The visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday, July 16 at the Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos, TX. Recitation of the holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church in San Marcos on Tuesday, July 17 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery in Reedville, TX.
