Marlene Castilla Sauceda, age 48 of Seguin, was called to her heavenly home on May 15, 2019. Visitation will begin on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek and Rev. Gregory J. Nevlud officiating.

Private interment will be held at a later date. Marlene was born on December 16, 1970 in Seguin, Texas to Jesse, Sr. and Janie (Lucio) Castilla. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Ernest L. Castilla, sister, Arlene Castilla-Wolfe, her great-nephew, J. J. Wohl, mother-in-law, Belinda G. Sauceda, and brother-in-law, Jeremy Michael Sauceda.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Johnny Sauceda; beloved son, Noah Sauceda; beloved daughter, Kylie Sauceda; sisters, Irene Pratt and husband Keith, Darlene Clemings and husband Steven, Kathleen Castilla-Garcia and life partner Irene Garcia; brother, Jesse Castilla, Jr., and wife Frances; father-inlaw, Juan Sauceda; special family friends, Patty Torres; Vinny Gomez; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and other loving family members and many, many friends. Serving as special honorary pallbearer will be Jeremy Sauceda; Serving as honorary pallbearers will be TJ Lopez, Jeff Castilla, Joshua Castilla, Jamie Castilla, and Brandon Molina; serving as pallbearers will be Vince Gomez, Jimmy Garcia, Justin Castillo, Nick Morgan, Andre Bell, David Molina, Brandon Mendez, and Valentin “Val” Luna, III.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, godmother, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend to many. Her contagious and infectious smile will always be remembered - as she brightened each room on earth, heaven is surely brighter with Marlene’s presence.
