Matias ‘Matt’ Rivera

Matias “Matt” Rivera, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018. He was born Feb, 24, 1940, in Staples, Texas, to Sisto and Guadalupe Rivera. Matias was a supervisor for LISD in Lubbock, Texas, for 47 years. He will always be remembered as a hardworking man who loved his family and cherished the time he would spend with them.

Matias is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Anna Rivera. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Carmen Rivera; his six children Linda Davalos and her husband Juan, Helen Rivera, Oscar Rivera, and Tiffany Rivera of San Marcos, Texas, Sunny Rivera and his wife Kristy Rivera, and Joe Rivera and his wife Gena of Lubbock, Texas. Matias is also survived by twenty grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.
