Michael R. Gomez

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Michael R. Gomez announces his passing, on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the young age of 47 years. Michael will be lovingly remembered by his parents Jose and Janie R. Gomez, his siblings Dora, Joe, Norma, Susie, Albert (wife Laura) and Lora (husband Kelly), numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a plethora of friends.

A native of San Marcos, Michael attended SMCISD his entire life then entered Southwest Texas State University where he continued his passion and enthusiasm for cheerleading. Michael will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious smile and laughter, kindness and willingness to help others in need.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Legends Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Centerpoint Road, San Marcos, at 6 p.m. on Monday July 30th followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m. On Tuesday July 31st, the procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. from Legends to St. John Catholic Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. The interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery in Reedville.

Michael will continue to be fondly remembered by his relatives and friends.
