President of Texas Rivers Protection Association speaks out on Float Fest

Sunday, April 28, 2019

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Mr. Federman is concerned because I “follow him around” to all the various hearings and court cases that pertain to his Floatfest. He says he can’t figure out why I do this. Well, it’s really quite simple. I have never liked his amazing idea of combining a music festival with a river float. I don’t like the concept of 10-20,000 drunk people floating down a river throwing out beer cans. I’m all about protecting Texas Rivers. I am president, after all, of the Texas Rivers Protection Association. I have spent a lifetime cleaning and protecting rivers. Of course I am going to ask that people drink their beer (while floating) out of a reusable container. And so, I will continue following this promoter around to hearings. Unfortunately, no one at this hearing heard what I said. Everyone was too busy thinking about the ungodly money this event will bring to town.
