Priscilla Noyes Crosson

Priscilla Noyes Crosson passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at home in Dripping Springs. She had a joy of life and was an inspiration to many who knew her. A lifelong Texan, born on Nov. 30, 1928 in Duluth, Minnesota, she grew up in Dallas as the youngest of six siblings. She received her BA degree from Middlebury College, Vermont.   

Priscilla Crosson married her husband of 53 years, Charles J. Crosson, in 1951 and they raised 3 children in Houston while building a real estate business. They were members of Unitarian Universalist Churches in Dallas, Austin and Houston. Priscilla and Charley moved to San Marcos, Texas in 1981, where she worked at Southwest Texas State University until her retirement. With a passion for adventure, she enjoyed travel, sporting events, star-gazing and sky-diving. An accomplished camper, sailor, artist and pilot, she chronicled her life in the book, Reflections – A Trilogy.      

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Crosson and husband, Richard Poe; son Doug Crosson and wife, Linda Crosson; son Jeff Crosson; and grandsons, Charley Crosson and Thomas Crosson.  Priscilla was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Crosson and her siblings.  

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church, San Marcos. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center in San Marcos.
