Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Rosa Irene McMullin of San Marcos, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children at her home on Oct. 17, 2018.

She was born on Oct. 29, 1931, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, the late Andrew McMullin, daughters, Matilda Lecot, Yoma Marie McMullin, son, Joel Alexander McMullin and grandson, James Roy McMullin.

Rosa spent her childhood and adolescence in Coahuila, Mexico. She began her new adventure in the US in the 1950s. Rosa remained in both Oklahoma and Texas until her death.

Our mother loved life and was always smiling even during her darkest days. One of our mom’s greatest joys was giving to children. She was able to achieve this through the San Marcos Police Blue Santa program for many years. She accomplished this by teaming up with the Monclova Coahuila Mexico Rotary Club and making arrangements to get toys delivered to excited waiting children.

Rosa was a loving, kind and gentle woman. She would rarely take from you, but always would give you her “last penny.” Peace was the only present our mother would ever ask for our entire lives. She loved to joke, tease and laugh and always was ready to go on a road trip no matter where she ended up.

Rosa is survived by daughter, Estella Aguilera and husband Jose of Mexico, Guadalupe McCoy and husband Marvin of Shawnee, OK; son, Sergio Flores of Piedras Negras, Coah, Mexico; son, Andrew Roy McMullin and wife Diana of Kyle, TX; son, Charles Marcus McMullin of Wimberley, Tx; daughter, Rosanna Wisener and husband James; daughter, Sandra Gray & husband James of Kyle, TX and sons-in-law, Lionel Lecot of Meaux, France and George Wilcox of Cedar Park, Tx and brother, Ricardo Rodriguez Peralta of Monclova, Coah, Mexico.

Grandma Rosa leaves behind 10 grandchildren  – Alexandrine Lecot Riley, John Lecot, Mitchell McCoy, Andrea Johnson, Eli McMullin, Diana Espiritu, Andrew Wisener, Lauren Wisener, Meagan Gray and Cameron Gray. Rosa also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren.

The McMullin family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Hospice Austin.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at the Kyle Methodist Church located at 408 West Lockhart Street, Kyle, TX 78640.
