Ruben Wizar Guajardo

Ruben Wizar Guajardo, of San Marcos, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the age of 76. He was born in Bishop, Texas on July 31, 1943 to Refugio (Wizar) and Santiago Guajardo.

He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Guajardo, parents and brother, Johnny Guajardo.

Survivors include his wife of over 51 years, Diana Flores Guajardo; children, Priscilla Hinojosa and husband Patrick, Eddie Guajardo, Ruben Guajardo Jr.  and wife Bonnie, Daniel Guajardo and wife Marty; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. 

Ruben was a hardworking man all his life, working in construction and auto customs. He and his family briefly lived in Dallas during his time as a body man. He came from a talented, musical family. Playing the drums and accordion, he and his brothers formed the band, “The Luceros,” as young men. His family will miss him greatly and their memories of him will never be forgotten. 

Visitation will be held at the Thomason Funeral Chapel on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Thomason Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 10:a.m. The Burial will follow at the San Marcos City Cemetery.
