Ryan Patrick Fraser
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ryan Patrick Fraser - beloved son, brother, friend, and talented high jumper – on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
Ryan was born on May 6, 2004. A lifelong resident of San Marcos, Ryan attended Wonderland School and San Marcos Academy where he was currently a freshman. While at the San Marcos Academy he was a member of the cross-country and track and field teams. Ryan was quite the computer and gaming enthusiast, typing well over 90 words a minute.
Ryan will always be remembered for his love of dogs, especially his sweet Sophie. An athlete, he particularly excelled at the high jump. Ryan trained with Olympic gold medalist Charles Austin for several years and they became great friends. In the summer of 2018, Ryan was invited to compete in the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa. On holidays and vacations, Ryan enjoyed spending time at his family’s ranch, as well as snowboarding in Colorado and New Mexico.
We take tremendous comfort in the knowledge that Ryan accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and the certainty that he has joined Him in Heaven. In Romans 8:38-39 in the New Testament, it states, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is Christ Jesus our Lord.” Though our lives are filled with ups and downs, we take comfort in the encouragement and hope these verses offer us, that we can always be secure in God’s unshakeable and everlasting love for us.
Ryan is survived by his parents Robyn Fraser, Shane and Courtney Fraser, as well as his siblings Chance Fraser and Tayler and Tanner McGill. Ryan is the grandson of Shiles and Rosemary Fraser, Albert and Cecilia Robinson, and Linda Gibson, in addition to several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Please join the family in a Celebration of Life service to remember and honor Ryan this Saturday, September 21, at the San Marcos Academy Chapel on the Hill beginning at 10 a.m. Following the service, the family invites everyone to share stories and memories of Ryan at an informal reception to be held in the San Marcos Academy dining hall.
