Chief Petty Officer Boatswain’s Mate Utah Hamilton passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2019, after an extended illness. Utah was a ‘jack of all trades’ and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed making crafts of all kinds.

He served his country honorably from 1941 thru 1961 in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a military enthusiast and loved to discuss the Navy with anyone that would listen. He will be dearly missed by his family and anyone that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude, mother Ulah Mae Tate, father Walter Hamilton, brother Curtis Hamilton, daughter Delilah Peterson, and son Dennis Gregorcyk.

Utah is survived by his daughters Melody Gravlee, Tina Hamilton, Donna Hughes and Sherry (Jack) Branham.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, DJ Peterson, Rick Peterson, Ashly Oswalt, Danai Oswalt, Sarah Garcia, Hilary Garcia, Dawn Moers, ETCS Jason Vaught, Shelley Vatzlavik, Heather Haferkamp and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 15 at 10:30 a.m. prior to funeral service at 11 a.m. at  Pennington Funeral Home located at 323 N. Comanche St., San Marcos, Texas.  Interment with military honors will be at the Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale, Texas.
