We commend our beloved Edward Joseph De La Rosa, 54 into the hands of our Lord. Eddie, a native of San Marcos, Texas was born on May 9, 1966 to Maria Espinoza and John De La Rosa, Jr. Eddie graduated from San Marcos High in 1985. He earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. He married the love and the best gift of his life, Ynette Clark, and lived in San Antonio. Eddie was employed at Randolph Air Force Base.

Arthur Darcy Carroll

Arthur Darcy Carroll, known to most as A.D., a long-time resident of San Marcos, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at the age of 83 at home surrounded by his family and his beloved Boxers Sammie and Houston. He was born in Sonora, Texas on June 9, 1937 to William Arthur & Mayme Carroll.

Catalina “Katey” Rodriguez

Catalina “Katey” Rodriguez, 92, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on June 18, 2020. She joins her parents, Leonardo and Andrea Alvarado Vasquez, her loving husband of 51 years, Juan S. Rodriguez, beloved son Benjamin Rodriguez, son-in-law Carlos Tijerina, and grandchildren Rebecca and John Luke Rodriguez. Also giving her a heavenly welcome are sisters Teresa, Santos and Mary Vasquez, Felipa Rizk, and brothers, Tito and Jimmy Vasquez. Survivors left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Mary Sylvia Tijerina, sons, John Rodriguez & Nancy, Leroy Rodriguez & Glenna, Albert Rodriguez & Ramona, daughter-in-law Christina Rodriguez and the last of her siblings, Rosa Acosta. Grandchildren who will miss their Meemaw/Momo are Claudia Tijerina, Collin (Gretchen) Bond, Sarah Rodriguez, Ethan and Avery Rodriguez, and Madison Mendez as well as great-grandchildren Caleb, Keaton and Kalee Bond, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Jack Edward Mercer

Jack Edward Mercer, 76, of Fentress, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2020. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Thomason Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas, with a reception following at the Tri-Community Civic Center in Prairie Lea, Texas. The family requests that people make donations to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (www.tpwf.org) to honor Jack’s love of the outdoors and service to the people of the State of Texas or Harwood Baptist Church, P.O. Martha G. Villanueva

Martha G. Villanueva, 77, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away June 21, 2020. She was born January 30, 1943, in Lubbock, Texas, to Fidencio and Benita Gonzales. She is preceded in death by her husband Juventude Villanueva. She is survived by her siblings Pauline Hernandez, Petra Gonzales, and Joe Gonzales; children Gilbert Villanueva, Daniel Gonzales, and Carol Gonzales; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos with Services immediately following. Services are under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home. Patricia Maureen Schwettmann of Wimberley died on June 17, 2020. She is survived by her husband Gerald, her sister and brother-in-law, her daughters, her son-in-law, her daughter-in-law, her granddaughters, her sister-in-law, nieces, and nephew.
