Margarita “Margie” Martinez, 67, of Kyle, Texas, died on August 24, 2020. Visitation will take place Monday, August 31 at 9 a.m. at Thomason Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Kyle Cemetery following services. Rebecca "Becky" Sikes

On August 20, 2020 Rebecca "Becky" Sikes was called home by her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was 74 years young, born to Junis and Lenore Hancock on June 12, 1946, in San Antonio, Tx where she grew up. She attended both Baylor University and Trinity University where she received her teaching degree. Becky soon met her greatest love, Mark Sikes, and married on August 30, 1969. They had two sons, Eric and Frank and settled down just outside of Seguin, Tx. Later, Mark and Becky built a home in Martindale, Tx and have lived there for the past 25 years.

Rene Soliz Piña, 49, of San Marcos, Texas, died on August 21, 2020. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos Texas. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 28 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. A funeral service will take place Saturday, August 29 at 10 a.m. at Thomason Funeral Home with internment to follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Martindale, Texas. Cheryl Brandner Archer

Cheryl Brandner Archer died of pancreatic cancer in San Marcos, Texas on July 27, 2020. She was born to Daniel C. Brandner and Verle Cudney on September 1, 1950 in Liberal, Kansas. She grew up in Wichita, Kansas where her father was a public school principal. After his death of early Alzheimer’s Disease her mother went on teach music and piano in Wichita. She graduated from Wichita High School Southeast in 1969 where she was an avid singer and dancer. She began her forty-nine-year marriage to her high school and college sweetheart Richard L. Archer after they both graduated from the University of Kansas in 1971. Cheryl graduated with a degree in early childhood education and later went on to earn a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Texas at Austin.
