5 year old notices house fire, emergency response quick

Editor,
It could have been worse — the fire at 517 Lockwood St. — if not for the alertness and keen smell of a 5 year old, who was playing outside his house.
He told his grandma that he smelled barbecue then he went back to playing. Then he came back running, shouting “grandma, the window is on fire,” while his grandma was in their storage room. So, she looked out and saw the flames coming out of the window and side of the neighbor’s house. So, she ran inside her house and told her daughter to call 911. So that’s why the fire department was notified so quick.
