Border wall would spoil the beauty of Big Bend

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I have been taking my Boy Scout Troop to Big Bend National Park almost every year since 1977.  A wall along the river would devastate the beauty and recreational aspects of the Rio Grande border area as well as the habitat of many native animals.

How about building the wall to the NORTH of Big Bend National Park?  Positioning it in a straight line from Presidio to Dryden or Langtry would leave much of the Big Bend border region intact for human and animal activity.  With only two main roads leading to and from the park, border checkpoints at the wall would be easy to set up.

Let’s keep Big Bend like it is.
