Letter to the Editor

Sunday, October 10, 2021

On Nov. 2, Election Day, we will choose two city councilmembers. Four candidates are running for the two places.

If you want to protect the San Marcos River and our environment, please vote for Mark Rockeymoore for city council.

If you want to protect the neighborhoods of San Marcos, please vote for Mark Rockeymoore.

If you want balanced growth in San Marcos, please vote for Mark Rockeymoore.

Mark worked at The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University. He knows the river issues that we face.

Mark’s college studies in urban geography help him understand and value the importance of established neighborhoods.

These studies also give him a wider perspective on options for our town, such as types of growth and types of affordable housing.

He previously served on city council.

He has lived in San Marcos since 2013 and is a fifth generation Texan. He teaches high school English in the Del Valle school district.

Mark is a veteran. He served in the Army during the Gulf War. He has four children ages 10 – 23.

Please vote for Mark Rockeymoore for city council.
