I want to express my gratitude in writing:
First, thank you, President Trump, for your “Operation Warp Speed” approach to developing and delivering a vaccine to combat this horrific virus that has dictated our way of life for the past year. Thank you and praise to the scientists and doctors involved for their amazing success in supplying us with the vaccine that all reports concerning it at this time are positive.
Second, thank you to a wonderful woman named Kathleen at our Hays County Health Center for her kindness and patience assisting me in registering for my first shot.
Third, thank you to our entire community of health care workers at the Hays County Health Center for their organization and consideration. All three of my visits to the center were positive in all respects.

Dear Editor,
Is anyone else in San Marcos concerned about one of our school board members being arrested for the second time in office for DWI? For the record, I do not know him, have never met him that I know of, and have no preconceived ideas about him as a person. All I know about him is what I read in Tuesday’s front page article concerning the DWIs. I realize he is an elected official, so I assume he cannot be fired. However, looking on the Texas Association of School Boards website, I did find the oath that trustees take. Under the section about Student-Centered Focus, it states “I will continuously be guided by what is best for all students of the district.” Is it best for all students to have a trustee arrested for two DWIs? What message does this send to our students? Under the section entitled Integrity of Character, it states, “I will consistently uphold all applicable laws, rules, policies and governance procedures” Where does DWI fit into integrity? He apologizes and thanks the public for their support and understanding. I cannot support and understand his staying in this position. Yet reading his comments in the paper, he evidently has no plan of stepping down. How can he in good conscience continue to represent our students, teachers and community in the capacity of serving on the school board? I am appalled, embarrassed and angry to have this trustee represent our district. I earnestly submit that he resign immediately.
