The San Marcos Academy varsity tennis team competed at the TAPPS 3A District Tennis Tournament on April 4, 2024. Following a long day of play, six members of the team advanced to the TAPPS State Tennis Tournament to be held on April 17-18.

Students sitting for their STAAR exams this week will be part of a new method of evaluating Texas schools: Their written answers on the state’s standardized tests will be graded automatically by computers.
DEAR ABBY: I’m in a sexless 25-year marriage. It was not always this way, but any intimacy has been over for more than a decade. My wife’s libido has waned, which I understand. What she does do is continually bring up issues about me from years ago as if they were yesterday.
While traveling around the Lone Star State this spring, motorists are being treated to a show-stopping display of bright blues, vibrant pinks, deep reds and rich yellows. And recent rains brought us an early explosion of color that’s only going to get better before the season ends.
Because I’m a professional practitioner of the pedagogical arts (known in some parts as fancy book learnin’), I’m privileged to enjoy a Spring Break holiday that usually falls during the same week my semi-grown daughters are also out of school.
It was a tough week for the Rattler softball team who dropped their Friday game against the Judson Rockets 9-2.
The Texas State defense will be under new leadership as safeties coach Dexter McCoil Sr. was promoted to defensive coordinator over the offseason following the departure of Jonathan Patke who became the new defensive coordinator for the Duke Blue Devils.
