An off-duty Kyle Police Department officer was shot at a San Marcos apartment complex on Saturday, according to police.
San Marcos CISD Superintendent Dr. Michael Cardona recently announced that Stephanie Munoz will serve as the new San Marcos CISD interim chief of human resources.

SPIRIT BUBBLING OVER
Shetay Ashford-Hanserd, associate professor and chair of the Department of Organization, Workforce and Leadership Studies at Texas State University, has been awarded a National Science Foundation grant to expand a collaborative program which prepares historically underrepresented youth to pursue undergraduate science, technology, engineering and mathematics degrees.

VETERAN DONATION
The state's grid operator asked Texans to conserve electricity for the fourth consecutive day Sunday as intense heat threatened to cause a power-supply emergency.
On Monday, Texas Department of Public Safety’s Vehicle Inspection System officials announced in a press release that the system is now fully operational.
The agency that operates the power grid for much of the state asked Texans to conserve energy use several times last week as the grid was beset with high demand and low wind-power generation, according to the Austin American- Statesman.
The first match on the road for the Texas State soccer team (2-2-0) ended with a 1-0 setback to I-35 rival UTSA (3-1-0) Sunday from the Park West Athletics Complex.
