Texas State announced multiple staff changes following the confirmed departure of offensive coordinator Brett Elliott.

Elliott will become the new quarterbacks coach at Mississippi State where he served as a graduate assistant from 2012 to 2014.

Zak Kuhr was officially named running backs coach as well as run game coordinator with wide receivers coach Parker Fleming taking over as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.

“With the completion of the 2017 signing day, it is always a time to reflect and try to improve your football program,” head coach Everett Withers said in a statement. “One way is through staff changes and realignment. When you hire great coaches, you must understand that coaches will have opportunities to expand their career and move on."

Former running backs coach Ron Antoine will replace Fleming as the wide receivers coach with Adrian Mayes taking his place as tight ends coach. Mayes will also coach offensive tackles. With the departure of safeties coach Troy Douglas, Withers will aid defensive graduate assistant Preston Mason in that position. Texas State is in the process of interviewing for its vacant offensive line coaching position.

Spring camp is set to begin March 22 and the annual Maroon-Gold Spring Game is set for April 15.
