LSU's Mateos joining Withers' staff as OL coach

Texas State filled its final staff position this weekend.

The Advocate in Baton Rouge first reported that LSU offensive line assistant coach Eric Mateos will be named the Bobcats’ offensive line coach following a staff shuffling that was kick started by former offensive coordinator Brett Elliott’s departure to Mississippi State.

Mateos will take over for Adrian Mayes who transitioned to tight ends and offensive tackles coach.

The 27-year old served as interim tight ends coach after Ed Orgeron took over following Les Miles’ firing in 2016.

Before he arrived at LSU, Mateos served as a graduate assistant at Arkansas for three seasons. He played collegiately at Hutchinson Community College and Southwest Baptist University.
