According to FBSchedules.com, Texas State and New Mexico State have agreed to a future home-and-home series for 2018 and 2020.

Next season, the Aggies will travel to San Marcos on November 4 next season with Texas State traveling to Las Cruces for the return leg in 2020 set for October 3.

This year will be New Mexico State’s last season as part of the Sun Belt Conference. The program will go independent in football beginning in 2018.

Texas State was originally slated to play Tulsa in 2018 before the Golden Hurricane backed out.

The scheduling fills Texas State’s 2018 and 2020 non-conference opponents. In 2018, the Bobcats will open the season at Rutgers before hosting Texas Southern. The team will travel to face UTSA before hosting NMSU in the fourth and final non-conference game.

In 2020, Texas State hosts UTSA, SMU and Ohio before traveling to face NMSU.
