Bobcat doubles teams make appearance in ITA regionals

Texas State had two women’s doubles team play consolation doubles matches on Sunday at the ITA Texas Regional in Fort Worth. 

The freshmen doubles team of Andrea Fuchs and Flavia Gutierrez-Balcazar played in the quarterfinals where they fell to No. 6 seeded Lana Bush and Alex Valenstein from Texas Tech. 

The junior doubles team of Ana Perez and Julia Navajo-Melendez defeated Houston’s Laura Bernardos and Constandena Nicolaou 8-1 in the quarterfinals. Perez and Navajo-Melendez fell in semifinals to Texas’ Bojana Markovic and Bianca Turati. 

Texas State hosts the Texas State Play Day Tournament on Saturday at Bobcat Tennis Complex.

Time announced for football’s road matchup against Coastal Carolina

Texas State’s game against Coastal Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 28 will kickoff at 5 p.m., the Sun Belt and ESPN announced on Monday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3. 

The contest between the Bobcats and Chanticleers will be the first time the two schools meet for a football game. This is Coastal Carolina’s first year in the Sun Belt. Oct. 28 will be the Chanticleers’ homecoming game. 

Meanwhile, Texas State will host its homecoming game when it returns to Bobcat Stadium on Nov. 4 to take on New Mexico State.
