Texas State has gone 5-1-1 since a three-game skid to McNeese, LSU and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The Bobcats most recent victory came against Arkansas State on Sunday. The Bobcats edged out the Red Wolves 2-1 inside the Bobcat Soccer Complex to remain undefeated in conference play. The victory marked Kat Conner’s 200th win as a head coach. Conner has spent her entire 20-year career as the Bobcats’ only soccer coach.

Junior forward Kaylee Davis extended her goal streak to six within the first 10 minutes of the game. Freshman forward Kayla Geren zipped the ball to Davis, who made her way past the center defender and knocked in the first score of the match inside the 18-yard box.

Davis scored again later in the second half. In the 63rd minute, sophomore midfielder Mackenzie Smith found Davis streaking down the left side. Davis was able to reach the ball and get it past the goalkeeper for her second point.

Arkansas State cut the lead back down to 2-1 after senior midfielder Taylor Schneider knocked in a header in the 78th minute. But the Texas State defense held firm the rest of the match, avoiding any equalizers.

Davis is now tied for the longest goal streak in school history. She’ll look to break the record in her next game as Texas State travels to Boone, North Carolina on Friday to take on Appalachian State at 6 p.m.
