Senior forward Kassi Hormuth and sophomore goalkeeper Heather Martin have earned Sun Belt honors for the second week in a row. Hormuth’s point streak extended to six games while Martin produced her eighth straight victory inside the posts.

Texas State’s winning streak is now at six games following the two wins the Bobcats picked up this past weekend over Arkansas-Little Rock and ULM. Against the Warhawks, Hormuth scored her second-straight game winning goal and recorded an assist to put the match away. In Sunday’s matchup, she gave Texas State the lead in the 68th minute when her shot found the right corner from 30 yards out.

In Sun Belt matches, Hormuth ranks first in assists (four) and match-winning goals (three). She is tied for second in points (12) and tied for fourth in goals (four). Following the weekend, Hormuth moved into sole possession of ninth place on the school’s career list with 44 points.

Martin was only required to make one save against ULM but the shutout secured a win for the Bobcats and tied the school’s consecutive shutout streak at five games. She had a strong performance against the Trojans by tying her game-high record eight blocks. The biggest play occurred during a penalty shot. Martin’s save marked the first time a Texas State goalkeeper blocked a penalty shot since 2012. Following the weekend performance, Martin became the eighth Bobcat to record 100 saves in her career.

Texas State is now scheduled to close out the regular season this weekend when they return home to host Troy and South Alabama. The Bobcats will be competing on Friday and Sunday with a Sun Belt Championship on the line.

The first match of the weekend is scheduled to start Friday inside the Bobcat Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
