Lady Rattlers attend National Girls and Women in Sports Day banquet

Multiple Lady Rattlers attended the National Girls and Women in Sports Day banquet Monday evening at Texas State, with a handful walking away with awards.

San Marcos’ nominees included volleyball players Victoria Alvarez, Julia Antu, Samantha Booth, Julia Gutierrez and Jade Olivo, girls’ basketball players Miranda Lamb, Kayla Presley, Faith Phillips and Grace Latham, softball players Hannah McCutcheon, Andrea Garcia and Gianna Moreno, and swimmer Jamie Wendell.

McCutcheon received the banquet’s Good Sportsmanship Award. Garcia was named the winner of the Leadership Award. Alvarez was named to the Most Spirited Award. Olivo was given the Perseverance Award. Moreno received the All-Around Athlete Award. And San Marcos Volleyball’s Michelle Moreno was awarded Most Valuable Coach.
