Leavitt, Holle named to All-Sun Belt preseason teams
The Sun Belt is on notice.
On Wednesday, the conference released its women’s basketball preseason poll, featuring Texas State at the No. 3 spot. The Bobcats were ranked No. 5 in last year’s poll before finishing the season 23-10 and making appearances in the conference championship game and the first round of the Women’s National Invitational Tournament.
Senior guard Toshua Leavitt was named to the preseason All-Sun Belt first team after making the second team last year. Leavitt averaged 17.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals last season and drained 137 threes — second most in the NCAA — on a .427 percent clip.
Junior guard Brooke Holle was also named to the preseason All-Sun Belt third team. Holle averaged a career-high 11.7 points last year, canning 57 triples, good for ninth-most in a season in school history.
