Rattler baseball to pay tribute to officer Copeland

San Marcos Baseball

Tuesday night’s baseball game against Manor will serve as an honoring for both the police department and the first responders of San Marcos.

Before the game, there will be a brief tribute to the department and officer Kenneth Copeland who passed away serving for the city of San Marcos.

“A lot of my friends are police officers and I spoke with them and thought it’d be a great tribute to what our police and first responders in this community go through every single day,” head coach Bryan Webb said. “They put their lives on the line for us. So a brief honoring for them is just a small detail of what we can do to honor an officer that meant so much to the community. I think this will bring the program together, the community together and I think it’ll be a great night for San Marcos.”

Along with a tribute, the Rattlers will be wearing unique and special-made uniforms that will represent the San Marcos police. There will also be a patch sewn into the jerseys that will honor officer Copeland in support of his family.

First pitch between San Marcos and Manor is scheduled for 7 p.m.
