Texas State senior pitcher Randi Rupp became the Bobcats’ all-time strikeout leader on Sunday after throwing 10 strikeouts against San Diego at the Littlewood Classic at Farrington Softball Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.

Rupp entered the game five away from tying the record with 1,014 career strikeouts. Her 10 strikeouts against the Toreros broke the record, which was set by Nicole Neuerburg, who played for Texas State from 2001-2004.

The senior pitcher’s performance helped the Bobcats defeat San Diego, 2-1.

With the victory in the circle, Rupp is now in the top three in career wins with 86, appearances at 147, complete games with 82 and shutouts at 34.

Texas State’s season continues at the Florida Atlantic Strike-Out Cancer Tournament starting on Friday against Columbia at 2:45 p.m. and at 5 p.m. against Florida Atlantic.
