San Marcos Academy defeats Brooks Academy

San Marcos Academy defeated Brooks Academy, 21-6, on Friday.

The two teams endured a long weather delay during the game. A lightning delay began in the second quarter and lasted until about 10:15 p.m. The squads played until midnight. 

Friday’s game served as SMA’s ‘Pink Out’ game. Senior David Humphrey scored the first touchdown of the night. He finished with two carries for 44 yards and one score. 

Senior running back/free safety Josh Burich recorded 80 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore running back/full back Robby Newman tallied 45 yards and a touchdown. Senior Anant Singh recorded 69 yards. 

The Bears finished with 274 rushing yards. 

SMA is now 1-3. The Bears play a non-district game against St. Gerard Catholic in San Antonio on Friday.
