Texas State announces three-game series with Baylor
Texas State announced a future three-game series with Baylor on Thursday.
The Bobcats host the Bears on Sept. 4, 2021 inside Bobcat Stadium. Texas State travels to McLane Stadium in Waco on Sept. 17, 2022 and Sept. 2, 2023.
“We are extremely excited about announcing this series for our fans and student-athletes,” Texas State athletic director Larry Teis said in a statement. “It will be great to welcome back a Big 12 Conference university to Bobcat Stadium. Baylor has a strong football history and having them visit us in San Marcos will be a great event for our Bobcat community. Having the opportunity to travel to Waco for two games will also be very convenient for our fans and student-athletes. We would expect to not only have a great turnout for our home game but for our fans to travel exceptionally well on the road.”
Texas State’s game against the Bears in 2021 will be the second time in program history that it hosts a team from a Power 5 Conference. The Bobcats first Power 5 matchup came against Texas Tech on Sept. 8, 2012, where the second-largest crowd in Bobcat Stadium history was record with 33,006 fans in attendance.
