Stan Standridge
The San Marcos City Council unanimously confirmed Stan Standridge as Chief of SMPD in its meeting Wednesday. Standridge’s first day on the job will be Nov. 16.
Alyssa Garza and Shane Scott will be sworn in as new San Marcos City councilmembers for Place 3 and 4 unseating incumbents Ed Mihalkanin and Mark Rockeymoore.

Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler ended election night as the unofficial victor with 50.97% of the vote. Challenger Alex Villalobos tallied 49.03% of the vote.

Today is the final day to vote in what has been called "the most important election of the century," and it's not too late to let your vote be counted in the 2020 General Election.
