Texas State and UFCU agreed to a historic naming rights deal that will change the name of Bobcat Stadium to UFCU Stadium. The naming rights deal will be the largest in the Sun Belt Conference and the largest naming gift in Texas State history.

Bobcat Stadium renamed UFCU Stadium after new sponsorship

For over 40 years, the name Bobcat Stadium has stood up against the test of time. It is the name that has graced the side of the Texas State football stadium from the glory years of the Lone Star Conference through the days of the Southland Conference before expanding in 2012 in preparation for the jump to Football Bowl Subdivision. Now the stadium will enter a new era.

Two members of the San Marcos CISD Board of Trustees were sworn in on Monday night. No election was held in the race because there were no challengers after the filing deadline. Top right, State Representative Erin Zwiener swears in her Chief of Staff Juan Miguel Arredondo. He takes the seat that was weld by Mari Salmi. Bottom left, Board President Anne Halsey was sworn in by Alicia Guenther, Executive Associate to the Superintendent. Both were elected to threeyear terms.

Bluebonnet Electric celebrates 85 years of service in the community

About 500 Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members and guests filled The Silos on 77 event center in Giddings last week for the co-op’s Annual Meeting. Those at the meeting enjoyed live music, received reports highlighting Bluebonnet’s successes during 2023 and early 2024, re-elected two directors and took home door prizes. Bluebonnet Electric’s service area includes much of the area east of Interstate 35 outside of the San Marcos city limits.

'It’s Gonna Be May' adoption promotion using Timberlake tickets to help pets find a home

In honor of Justin Timberlake’s unofficial “It’s Gonna Be May” month, the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter along with the area’s other large animal shelters are working together to get pets into loving homes. Visit any of the seven shelters during May 20-27 to meet all of the pets vying to win your heart and who “just wanna be with you!” during the “It’s Gonna Be May” Adoption Promotion.
