The Equus “Legacy in Action” Team is comprised of Gary staff members with a vision of changing the lives of the students, staff and the community they live in.

Under coordinator Elva Zdeb, this team is actively planning for events such as Valentine’s Day, Black History Month, Hispanic and Indigenous Month, Sights and Sounds of San Marcos, Juneteenth and Cinco de Mayo as well as assisting with community partners at Southside Community Center, Hays Caldwell County Women’s Center, San Marcos Youth Council and activities in Lockhart, Martindale, Luling and San Marcos. Partnering with community and student leaders will ensure that all events and activities have the coverage from the “Legacy in Action” volunteer committee.
