Outsiders Anonymous to host Recovery Month events starting Oct. 8

Outsiders Anonymous will hold its inaugural Recovery on the Plaza Festival on Oct. 8 at San Marcos Plaza Park.

This event will be a free festival celebrating all paths of recovery from substance use to the journey toward mental health. The event strives to bring the community together while showcasing the services available in Hays and Comal counties. At this event, guests will experience live music and free food while connecting with local recovery organizations at booths, while gathering resources and playing some family-friendly games.

Outsiders Anonymous will also unveil the state’s first free Narcan stand at Recovery on the Plaza. This stand will be permanently located at the Outsiders Anonymous facility, 324 Riverwalk Dr., Ste. 218. The stand will have free Narcan and testing strips available to any community member. With the recent increase in opioid-related overdoses, Outsiders Anonymous pledges to do everything they can to keep community members alive.

As Hays and Comal counties grow, there is no longer a need to travel to Austin or San Antonio for a supportive recovery community. For more information about this event or to learn how to become a sponsor, please visit recoveryontheplaza. com.

Outsiders Anonymous is a 501c3 nonprofit located in San Marcos to provide free fitness training with a sober community to help individuals run from relapse and lift themselves into a life worth living.
