San Marcos Art League donates to Hays County Food Bank
The San Marcos Art League recently wrapped up its holiday food drive and fundraiser benefitting the Hays County Food Bank.
In November, Art League members and the public gathered together to make and donate handmade ornaments, which were sold during the months of November and December at the San Marcos Art Center. For a $5 donation to the Food Bank, customers were able to choose a special ornament to take home. The handmade ornaments ranged from felt cardinals to fused glass trees made by member Gerald Kurten. In addition, nonperishable food items were collected at the Art Center.
The Art League presented the Hays County Food Bank with a check for $1,160 and 157 pounds of food.
