Tanger Outlets San Marcos to celebrate Women Business Leaders

As International Women’s Day approaches on March 8, Tanger Outlets San Marcos will highlight local womenowned and women-led businesses at the mall, such as the newly-opened cosmetics company, Lather.

Lather is a local, small-batch and organic cosmetics company dedicated to caring for the environment with minimal packaging. Owned by Sherri Wilson, Lather specializes in shower bars and bath products.

H&M is also a woman-led business at Tanger Outlets, headed by CEO Helena Helmersson. H&M is a global clothing retailer focused on sustainable fashion for conscientious consumers.

Allison Murphy, marketing director for Tanger Outlets, is helping to guide the campaign to showcase womenowned and women-led businesses. A woman business leader herself, Murphy is responsible for spreading information about Tanger’s programs and initiatives.

“I just want to expand and get the word out about Tanger,” Murphy said. “In the world of online shopping, what we offer is more experiential.”

One such experience is the TangerClub sign-up, which is $10 for a lifetime membership and includes a savings book upon every visit to the Outlets.

“Shopper services should always be your first check-in,” Murphy said. March 1 through April 17, sign-up for TangerClub will include Hunter the rabbit while supplies last.
