Wake the Dead hosts Abracadavar Market

Sunday, August 23, 2020

As the summer draws to a close, many businesses in San Marcos are taking the tentative first steps toward re-opening. Some businesses and restaurants have opted to host outdoor seating and open-air markets in order to help spark the local economy while keeping patrons and vendors safe.

Wake the Dead coffee shop, located at 1432 Old Ranch Road 12, is taking a structured approach to re-opening with the Abracadavar Magic Marketplace, set for Sunday evening from 5 to 10 p.m.

“The goal of the Abracadavar Market is to promote local artists and magic makers in a safe and friendly environment,” said the event’s coordinator, Pixx L.

Precautions to keep the market safe include a mandatory mask- and facial-covering policy, as well as instituting a one-way path along vendors’ tables to help enforce social distancing. All vendors will provide hand sanitizer or will offer touchless browsing at all of the booths.

In this way, attendants and vendors of the market will maintain a safe and health-conscious environment while they shop.
