The Little Sisters of Hoboken are back on The Wimberley Players stage to bring you “Nuncrackers,” the Christmas themed sequel in the “Nunsense” series written by Dan Goggins running weekends through Dec. 10.

Get ready to unwrap the holiday season with laughter and toe-tapping tunes as this funny and heartwarming holiday musical takes The Wimberley Players stage under the direction of the talented Terri Bennett. “Nuncrackers” is a high-spirited celebration of the festive season, featuring those lovable nuns known for their unique brand of comedic antics. Audiences can expect to be treated to an evening of quirky musical numbers, a hilarious cooking class, a fun home-shopping experience, and even a few tugs at their heartstrings as the sisters attempt to put on their first-ever Christmas TV special.

“Nuncrackers” is the Christmas sequel to Dan Goggins original “Nunsense” series that started as a line of greeting cards, expanded into a cabaret show and eventually became a full-length musical. The original Off-Broadway production of “Nunsense” opened in 1985 and soon became the second-longest-running Off-Broadway show in history. The original show’s success prompted multiple sequels including “Nuncrackers” and even a few spin-offs. More than 25,000 women have played various roles in the Nunsense series, including Kaye Ballard, Georgia Engel, Lee Meriwether, Phyllis Diller, Sally Struthers, JoAnne Worley and Rue Mc-Clanahan, just to name a few.

Veteran Player Karin Cunningham will be reprising her role as the Reverand Mother along with a recent addition to the Players’ family, Robby Vance playing Father Virgil. They will be joined by some new-to-the-Players actors Reji Smith as Sister Hubert, Elizabeth Armer as Sister Mary “Amnesia” Paul and Tracy Hurd as Sister Robert Anne. Rounding out the cast as the four talented Mt. St. Helen School students are Anais Molin, Audrey Strobel and Gibson and August Rigby-Cockle.

With a secret Santa giveaway, sing-along carols and even their own version of the Nutcracker ballet, “Nuncrackers” guarantees an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, love, and the true spirit of Christmas.

“Nuncrackers” is directed by Terri Bennet and produced by Karen Rudy with musical direction and accompaniment by Carole Hofsted and Hunter Garrett. Choreography is by Sandra Organ.

“Nuncrackers” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC., (concordtheatricals. com)
