Diez y Seis celebration rescheduled for Oct. 13

This year’s Diez y Seis celebration was rained out, but organizers have rescheduled it for this weekend.

Together for a Cause will hold the Diez y Seis Fiesta and Menudo Cookoff on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at 1701-B Hunter Road, next to the VFW Hall. The event is free and will include arts and crafts vendors, food, games, a jalapeno eating contest and other entertainment. Among the live music performers scheduled for Saturday night are Gloria Garza, Devin Banda and the Band, David Farias, and Grupo Impacto (although musical acts are subject to change). Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Sponsors for the Diez y Seis Fiesta include All Makes Collision and Automotive Repair, El Milagro Tortilla Products, Tractor Supply Co., McCoy’s Building Supply, Home Depot, Academy, Frost Bank, Lowes and Medpark Pharmacy.
