SMCISD Board of Trustees to hold school safety meeting

Friday, November 1, 2019

The San Marcos CISD Board of Trustees will hold a school safety meeting on Friday.

The board will receive a legislative update presentation and hold a discussion on a school safety grant.

Trustees will have a safety update since its last meeting, which will discuss threat assessment training for each campus, exposure drill training, San Marcos CISD Fully Integrated Response System School Treats and Standard Response Protocol, Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events and Stop the Bleed training.

The board will discuss upcoming CPR/STB certification training on Nov. 16.

The trustees will then head to executive session to hold a discussion regarding placement of bleed stations and needs pertaining to the school safety grant. The board will convene and take possible action on placement of bleed stations if necessary.

The special meeting begins at 10 a.m. at San Marcos High School — 2601 Rattler Rd. — inside the Criminal Justice Classroom.

*** Correction: In Friday, Nov. 1’s edition of the Daily Record, it was misstated the San Marcos CISD Board of Trustees was holding a school safety meeting. The district’s school safety committee met Friday. However, due to recent legislature changes, the commitee must inform the public in line with the Texas Opening Meetings Act.
